​Accident Investigation Unit

Members of the Accident Investigation Section are trained investigators in the forensics of vehicular accidents and respond to crash scenes involving fatalities or major injuries.  The members of this unit collect evidence at the scene, using the latest tools and equipment available in the market. They work diligently to reconstruct the accident and prepare court ready data-books and file any related criminal charges arising from the collision.  This unit is made up of patrol deputies that attend hundreds of hours of specialized training each year to qualify and stay informed of new equipment and techniques.  The unit was awarded the Constable’s Unit Citation in 2017 for their dedication and hard work in investigating major motor vehicle crashes and filing several murder and manslaughter charges.
