Property and Evidence Unit
The Property and Evidence Unit is responsible for and maintains control of all evidence and property booked into and stored in the evidence room. Property and evidence are properly stored and its location is accurately documented and maintained. The Property and Evidence Unit assures that property is properly handled, packaged, labeled and shelved safely, according to established procedures that require the integrity and chain of custody remain valid. The Property and Evidence Unit handles over 10,000 items of property and evidence annually.
