Records & Public Information
The Records Division is responsible for maintaining offense/incident reports, accident reports, outside agency requests, and statistical data for the department. This division's operating hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm. In addition, the Records Division works with officers both in and outside of the Department to verify the stolen or recovery status of articles, vehicles and missing persons.

Please note: All requests for records must be submitted to our office in writing. That can be done by completing the below, titled Public Information Request Center. Once the request has been received by our office, we have 10 business days to reply to the request; however, we strive to complete these requests in a timely manner. We ask that you are detailed and specific on what you are requesting to receive back from our office. Upon processing the request, if there is a cost associated with your request, our office will notify you of the fee amount or send a cost estimate if over $40.

The report or information you are seeking may not be legally releasable to the general public. For example, state law prohibits the release of reports related to juvenile suspects, child abuse, and private matters such as sexual assault. In consideration of the following, the report you are requesting may not be available should the following apply:

The completion of your request may vary depending on the records being requested and any review by the Attorney General that must take place. - Cases involving an inappropriate teacher/student relationship
- Cases involving the commitment of an individual for mental health purposes
- Cases related to undercover investigations such as narcotics and gambling
- Offenses occurring at mental health institutions
- Cases with court ordered non-disclosure orders, expungements and/or seals.
